1691 - Irish Folk Songs

This is an extremely rare recording from 1973 featuring  Triona Ni Dhomnaill, Matt Molloy, Tommy Peoples, Peter Browne & Liam Weldon. It's place in the Celtic Traditional family tree is post Skara Brae and pre Bothy Band. The music is of the highest quality and was recorded and released in France as "Irish Folk Songs".

1691 - Irish Folk Songs

Mick Hanly & Mícheál Ó Dhomhnaill - Celtic Folkweave

An excellent and ultra rare album, a precursor to Ó Dhomhnaill's work with the Bothy Band and Nightnoise. A number of the tracks will be familiar to fans of the Bothy Band, including 'The Hag at the Churn', 'An Bothán A Bhaigh Fionnghuala', 'The Banks of Claudy', and 'The Heathery Hills of Yarrow'. The album was produced by Dónal Lunny. It would seem that the master tapes of this recording were destroyed in a fire at the headquarters of Polydor Ireland some time in the 1970s, and subsequently this album has never been re-released. It features a number of big guns from the 1970s scene, including several members of Planxty, and future members of the Bothy Band:

Bothy Band - After Hours (Recorded Live In Paris)

Recorded June 1978 in Paris and released in early 1979 this magnificent concert was sadly the swansong of one of the most influential Irish Traditional groups. Just look at the line up, you wont see better on the one stage. By the way the music is sublime.
