A House of Pomegranates (1891) is a collection of fairy tales, written by Oscar Wilde, that was published as a second collection for The Happy Prince and Other Tales (1888). Wilde once said that this collection was "intended neither for the British child nor the British public."This collection is often seen as a much darker and sinister twin to The Happy Prince and Other Tales (1888). Behind these tales are deeper themes portraying Wilde's subtle cynicism of the world and his love of aesthetics. Each story has a valuable moral lesson at the end, which makes re-reading (or re-listening) all the more rewarding.
